The Rhode Island Bar Association’s Government Lawyers Committee is sponsoring a free-to-Bar-members, one-credit Committee CLE seminar on Monday, April 28th, from 12:30-1:30 PM, in person ONLY. Attendees will earn .5 ethics + .5 credit.
The program, "A Conversation with Zachary A. Cunha, Former US Attorney for the District of Rhode Island," will discuss his 20-year career at the U.S. Department of Justice and his former role as a municipal lawyer at the New York Law Department. Specific topics will include special responsibilities of a government lawyer, expectations of the court, public perception and perception of fellow lawyers, the challenges of prosecutorial discretion and balancing uniformity with appropriate outcomes, balancing personal views and institutional expectations, the current landscape of government service and recommendations for those considering a career in federal service.
