Pursuant to the terms of RIGL § 42-73-2, Governor McKee's office has notified the Rhode Island Bar Association of the establishment of a search committee to select nominees to serve as Rhode Island’s Child Advocate for a new five-year term. There are two immediate openings to be filled by members of the RI Bar Association on the Committee.
The Governor’s office will assist with all administrative functions of the search committee including adhering to open meetings requirements, meeting schedules, logistics, and anything else that may arise.
Any Bar member who is interested in serving on the search committee to select nominees to serve as Rhode Island’s Child Advocate, please submit a letter of interest and your resume to Kathleen M. Bridge, Executive Director at kbridge@ribar.com before 4:00 pm on Monday, August 21, 2023. All applications will be forwarded to the Bar's leadership for review and determination of the two appointees who will represent the Bar on the committee.
