According to an email from the Rhode Island Division of Taxation, this year’s “Seminar for Tax Preparers” will be held virtually on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The seminar is intended only for tax preparers and is free of charge. The program will include several speakers and an advance look at what’s new for the upcoming tax-filing season.

In advance of the seminar, preparers have the opportunity to send the Division their questions about the coming filing season using the following email address: Tax.Outreach@tax.ri.gov. (Please do not include any client-specific information.) The Division will answer as many of those questions as possible during the seminar. The Division also intends to give preparers the opportunity to ask questions during the event itself.

By early December, in advance of the seminar, the Division will send an email to preparers containing seminar details -- including a link they may use to view the seminar on their computers or other devices.

For more about the seminar, please see page three of the Division's most recent newsletter, available by clicking here
