Chief Justice Suttell Issues Court Order for Court Operations


Rhode Island Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell issued an Executive Order on March 17, 2020 relative to state court operations during the coronavirus pandemic.

The order states that trials, grand jury proceedings and other matters are continued until at least April 17, and that only emergency and essential matters may be heard. The order then goes on to identify those emergency and essential matters in each of the unified Judiciary’s six courts.
