So Your Mom’s Cousin’s Best Friend Got Pulled Over

This program will provide an informative and insightful overview of the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal. The program will provide a thorough analysis of what to do when "your mom’s cousin’s best friend" gets pulled over and is subsequently charged with a traffic offense. It will discuss each step of the case from the first phone call and initial intake with the client down to what happens at the conclusion of the case. This will include everything from the initial stop, interactions with the police, the types of traffic offenses and jurisdiction, as well as discovery such as police reports and BWC footage. It will provide an overview of the Collin Foote Act, DUI/Refusal cases, and the Medical Board at the DMV. We will provide practice tips and procedures that are helpful in cases where there is a related District Court misdemeanor or felony matter attached. Lastly, we will provide an in-depth overview and introduction to the RITT, to include the staff, clerks and Magistrates, the Courtrooms, pleadings, discovery, police prosecutors, e-filing, first appearances, pretrial conferences, trials and sentencing.
