This program will provide a comprehensive overview of the legislative process in Rhode Island. It will cover how a bill becomes law, including the steps to approach a member of the General Assembly, drafting legislation, introducing a bill, and navigating the legislative process through committee hearings, votes, and final approval by both legislative chambers. Participants will learn how to use the Rhode Island Legislative Information Network (the General Assembly’s website) to track bills, submit testimony, and access live and recorded hearings. This session is ideal for those seeking practical insights into legislative advocacy and procedure.
