The methodology used by the initial investigators is key when making a speed estimate. Each speed calculation formula has unique variables and margin of error. This presentation will discuss the information needed to assure that proper investigative techniques were used to attain reliable information and evidence. When the procedures are suspect so are the results.
Knowing what variables exist when evaluating the dynamics of the crash, will allow the attorney to decide, if their case requires contacting a reconstructionist to review the crash.
