Membership Categories and Dues
The Rhode Island Bar Association supports attorneys and legal professionals across various stages of their careers through several membership categories, each based on standing as determined by the Rhode Island Supreme Court. Below is an overview of our categories and corresponding annual dues.

Dues Structure
- $125 Associate Member
- $140 Inactive Member
- $125 In-House Counsel Member
- $225 Regular Member
- $140 Regular Member (Less than 5 years)
- No Fee Law Student
- No Fee Active Military
- No Fee Honorary Member
- No Fee Inactive/Retired Member (No Membership Benefits)

The member invoices are available for payment or download from our website as of September 1st for the current fiscal year. Payment is due upon receipt. A late fee of $50 is assessed on November 1 if the member dues have not been paid prior to then. A mandatory $25 fee is assessed for the Client Reimbursement Fund for licensed members.
Please note: Your annual Rhode Island Bar Association Membership Dues payment is separate and distinct from your annual Rhode Island Supreme Court Registration Fee payment. You may pay your Bar dues in the My RIBA Dashboard, but you must pay your Court registration fee directly to the Supreme Court.
