Summary

This program is designed for government practitioners and attorneys working in the policy space who need to understand how federal statutory and regulatory changes will impact their practice. Health insurance law requires merging policy, economic, and legal expertise across a vast range of interrelated topics – and the landscape is shifting rapidly.

Recent federal changes will result in an estimated 45,000 Rhode Islanders losing access to health insurance, with new barriers emerging for those who can access it. At the same time, Rhode Island is facing a health care crisis that has prompted significant legislative action at the state level. Attendees will gain a practical understanding of these developments and leave with a suite of research resources to further explore health care law.

Faculty: Jordan Broadbent, Esq., Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General
