A Guide to Reopening Your Practice; First Annual Meeting Virtual Programs Start This Week; Don't Forget to Sign Up for Bar Committees

I am excited to share with you a Guide to Reopening Your Practice that our Bar staff have put together. I hope you find it helpful as we navigate these murky waters back to something that resembles the working environment we once knew.

This week kicks off our 2020 Annual Meeting virtual series! On Wednesday, May 27, presenter Michael Colucci, Esq., of Olenn & Penza, brings us "Cross-Examinations: Homicidal or Suicidal?" The program explores a variety of highly effective and unique techniques designed to enhance your ability to achieve a lethal cross-exam while avoiding the pitfalls that cause needless harm and injury to your case.

And, on Thursday, May 28, presenters Benjamin Pushner, Esq., Jennifer Sylvia, Esq., and Jason Nystrom, Esq. bring us "Arbitration Essentials: Preparation and Procedure." The seminar provides an overview of the proper rules and procedure for the most common types of arbitration, such as statutory arbitration for motor vehicle accidents, court-annexed arbitration, and binding arbitration.

I also would like to remind you all that Bar committee membership does not carry over year to year, so sign up for the 2020-21 year now! Bar committee membership runs from July 1st to June 30th. To sign up for a 2020-2021 Bar Committee, go to the Bar’s website at ribar.com and go to the MEMBERS LOGIN. After LOGIN, click on the BAR COMMITTEE SIGN-UP link. As an alternative, you may download the Bar Committee Application form appearing above the button and mail or fax it to the Bar Association. Please only use one method to register to avoid duplication. If you have any questions concerning membership or the sign-up process, please contact the Bar’s Member Services Coordinator Erin Cute at (401) 421-5740 or ecute@ribar.com.
