Coronavirus Update: Updated RI Superior Court Remote Hearings Tutorial; RI Attorney General's Office Guidance for CARES Act Payments; New Secretary of State's Office Website Offers Remote Services; Free, Non-Credit Wellness Webinars

We will continue to pass along pertinent information related to the coronavirus crisis as we receive it.

Last week we circulated a WebEx attorney remote hearings tutorial recorded by RI Superior Court Associate Justice Brian P. Stern. Judge Stern has updated the tutorial, and it now covers all of the Superior Court Calendars permitting remote hearings. You can access the tutorial through SmugMug here, or, if you are not able to access the video sharing/storage site, click here to view it on Youtube.

The RI Secretary of State's Office has a new, streamlined website through which they offer remote services such as:
o  File forms online to incorporate a business
o  File an annual report
o  Update crucial business information
o  Request a Certificate of Good Standing online
o  Submit a UCC filing online to record a security interest in named collateral
o  Review and download historical business documents, including original articles of incorporation

They are also available by phone during normal business hours at 222-3040. Filings that cannot be processed online can be mailed or submitted using their new drop box that has been installed at 148 West River Street, Providence, RI. Limited in-person service is available by appointment only.

Additional information on the Paycheck Protection program for small businesses is available from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Boston Federal Reserve.
