Supreme Court Request to Attorneys

An email from the RI Supreme Court requests that attorneys refrain from entering judicial buildings unless attending an emergency matter. On March 17, 2020, the Chief Justice signed Executive Order No. 2020-04 continuing all trials and non-essential matters until after April 17, 2020 in light of the COVID-19 public health crisis.  Though the courts remain open to hear and determine emergency matters, the goal of the Executive Order was to limit the amount of foot traffic in and out of the buildings, both for the safety of the public and our employees.  Consistent with the Executive Order, the Court is asking for help in achieving their goal of limiting foot traffic by refraining from entering any judicial building unless you have an emergency matter before a court.
