Bar’s New Lawyers Committee Offering Free, 1 Ethics Credit CLE

04/18/2019 - The Rhode Island Bar Association’s New Lawyers Committee is sponsoring a free to Bar members, one ethics credit, Committee CLE seminar on Wednesday, May 1st from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, at Rhode Island Bar Association headquarters, 41 Sharpe Drive in Cranston.  The program, Ethical Use of Social Media in the Legal Profession, is presented by Attorney Brian Lamoureux of Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC. This program will explore the role and impacts that social media and devices have had on litigation, evidence, and ethical issues in Rhode Island courts. Topics include the ethical use of social media by lawyers, thorny litigation and evidentiary issues involving social media posts and text messages, discovery tactics to better handle social media evidence, privacy issues, and public records request in the context of social media.
